Today I learned....... 17/05/2010

2010 05 17 | raktiniai žodžiai: today, i, learned

I introduce my 'Today I learned.....' section.
There are a lot of small things which one must learn and experience in order to get a taste of the Lithuanian lifestyle.
The 'Today i learned' section is gonna be about what I learnt in my life as a student here on a daily basis, so here we go....

For 17/05/2010 -

TODAY I LEARNED that the proper Lithuanian way to drink tea is without milk and sugar. But it is good to give the guest a few chocolates or biscuits with it. Tea is called 'arbata' in lithuanian and it is served in a 'puodelis' (cup). Su sausainis (Biscuit).

Please comment on what you think or if I missed anything.

I totally agree with you Nick! I am still not used to the idea of tea without milk.
I can't say I am not trying though! :)

Oh yeah,I also sampled the delights of Lithuanian and also Latvian tea, without milk for myself when I was on holiday there.Must say,it sure was a shock to the digestive system. How those Baltic people drink tea without milk is beyond me.And as for the biscuits, tea is always much better with biscuits, especially chocolate ones,Mmmm
